Wild-life in Asturias.

I,ve had an e-mail fron john in Newcastle asking me about wild-life where we go
mushrooming.Well,you now i,m a bit of a joker but i'll be serious and tell you real
facts even if i,m not sure on figures.

 

Where we were last week the ground was literally ploughed up by wild-boar,they
abound and are hunted at this time of the year.Yes they do eat mushrooms!

Deer,fallow deer,capercaillies(wild turkey) and of course our asturian bear.These
are super-protected but 2 men are up for prosecution by setting wire-snares and
killing one this autumn.Jose manuel saw one around Somiedo this autumn and
one of our mushrooming friends had a scary interview with one last june!
